Exciting new developments planned for 2008.
Focus at the beginning of 2008 will be on field recording and
nutrient calculations. This area of administration is
becoming more important and both TGM and Kingswood will be
working to ensure the software helps the user to meet the
regulations in this area.
01/04/07
New Field recording application for PDAs (hand held personal
digital assistants) launched. This new application
allows users to record day to day field and nutrient management
information on a Palm or iPAQ handheld. This information
synchronises directly with the main Kingswood Farm Software on
the user's PC.
Apart from day to day events such as fertiliser and slurry
applications, there is a section of this new program designed
for farmers who are recording grass measurements and grass cover
- either with or without a grass meter. This substantially cuts
down administrative time for these farmers.
01/03/07
New Palm Sheep PDA program launched.
21/09/06 Link to DARD
Fertility Benchmarking system, Northern Ireland This
function allows user to click a button in the program which will
then generate a file for the Fertility benchmarking system. For
users of this system, when they log in to their own herd in the
system, they cam then pick up the fertility file generated by
Kingswood and update all their fertility records in the
Benchmarking system.
Kingswood Herd software
V3.7 R8.2 is now released. This has many new features including
more APHIS integration for N Ireland users. For United Milk
Records customers, Milk disk parameters to suit the new milk
recording format are found at
http://www.tgmsoftware.com/uniteddairymilkdisk/index.htm
This version also has the new list of Disposal Places
for dead animals as allowed by DARD in Northern Ireland.
Field records are
now an integral part of the Herd software. This part of the
program allows the user to record fertiliser use, slurry
applications, soil test results and much more.
iPAQ PDAs now supported by the Kingswood Herd software for PDA
Kingswood Herd for PDA now supports the iPAQ and other
WinCE PDAs. Users can now decide on which PDA is most suited to
their business rather than being restricted to the Palm PDAs.
Enthusiastic response to
Kingswood Herd for PDA
With over 300 PDA systems now running, the response of
users is very enthusiastic. The system has went down extremely
well with all types of farm enterprises, dairy, suckler and
beef. A number of dairy users are now using the system for
their own 'DIY' milk recording and this has also been very
successful.
The PDA not only allows the
user to record events as they happen, for example, services,
calvings, health treatments, but it also has the complete animal
database within it. This means it can generate due to calve
lists etc for dairy and suckler systems. 30 month lists for
beef systems etc. There is an excellent animal browser which
lets you browse through the animal records on the PDA screen.
Animal details such as ear tag number are shown, fertility data
such as last service dates, dry dates etc, milk recording data
and pedigree information are shown for each animal. Coming into
the system in the very near future will be the facility for
recording cattle weights.

New APHIS Online functions
added to Kingswood herd software.
The latest version of Kingswood Herd software now
generates an 'APHIS OnLine' registration file for births, deaths
and stillborn registration. This means that in Northern
Ireland, Kingswood users can directly update the department of
Agriculture APHIS OnLine system with birth, death and stillborn
notifications without having to re-enter the data to the APHIS
OnLine system. The information goes directly from the Kingswood
program to the APHIS OnLine system.
New contractor features in Kingswood Accounts.
New features have been added to the Kingswood Accounts
program to further enhance the program for contractors and small
businesses who use the job-card / invoicing options in the
program.
