This works in harmony with the PC software to enable sheep farmers to record sheep events as they occur on the farm. New Palm PDA Field recording system ready! The new Field recording application for Palm PDA is ready for deployment on farms. This application has been designed for easy recording of fertiliser, slurry, etc. This will be of tremendous benefit for farmers who will need to keep more accurate records from now on with the onset of regulations relating to nutrient management. DARD funding scheme comes to an end 31st March 2007 DARD's funding for innovative technology on farm project finally came to an end on 31st March. Over the last 2 years, many Northern Ireland farmers have benefited from this scheme. During that period, TGM worked with Kingswood Computing to develop a number of innovative and exciting new products. These included a Palm PDA herd system, linked to Kingswood farm software - now also available for Windows Mobile devices, Palm PDA system for field records, Palm PDA program for Sheep records and Palm PDA Standalone program for Herd records. The Standalone palm PDA program does not require farm software on the PC, and uses the herdlist downloaded from Northern Ireland's 'APHIS ONLine' system as its source data. This funding scheme has helped many farmers to delploy innovative computer solutions on their farms. Grassland measurement recording! For farmers routinly recording grass measurements, either 'eye balling' or using a plate meter, the new Field recording system for both the Palm PDA and the PC version allows the user to enter grass measurement quickly and easily. paddock grass cover, total grass cover etc are calculated. Using remote control software from www.logmein.com, getting help for software problems is now so much easier. A unique PIN number is generated by the support staff at TGM for the customer. The customer enters this in his / her computer and this enables the TGM Support staff to take over control of the customer's machine and solve the problem - just as if the support agent was actually sitting in front of the customer's machine. Customers have been delighted with this new service, not only for support services, but also for training.
