Exciting new developments with Electronic
tagging and Bluetooth equipment
The PDA program is now fully compliant with both Electronic tag
readers (running Windows Mobile or Palm Operating Systems) and
Bluetooth weighing equipment. This provides a lower cost
solution for sheep farmers wanting to use a bluetooth weigher, but
not wanting to invest in expensive fixed electronic tag reading
equipment. Using the Psion Workabout Pro RFID reader as an example;
The workabout pro has 2 function buttons. Select Sheepware has been
designed so that one button gets the electronic tag number of the
sheep, while pressing the other button gets the weight.
For sheep not electronically tagged, the PDA
program still allows users to use bluetooth weighing equipment.
Any bluetooth enabled PDA, even a mobile phone, can connect to a
bluetooth weigher.
