United Dairy Milk Disk Modification for new recording format

 

Downloading from United Website.

1. Log in to United Website using your milk recording herd number and PIN

2. Click on Data Download Menu, click on Datastream and choose to save.

3. Save where you can find it again, for example on your desktop.

4. In Kingswood, choose management -> milk recording

5. Click on Options, then on from email (terminology should actually be email / download)

6. Click on read milk disk and milk values should appear on screen in the usual way. You can then click to save milk recording.

7. When all finished and when you've exited from Kingswood, it would be good practise to drag the dsmember file on your desktop into the recycle bin - it only causes clutter on your desktop and is not needed once it has been processed.

Changes to make in the Kingswood Herd program before reading a dsmember file (datastream file) for the first time:

In Kingswood Herd, click System -> Herd Settings.  Make sure that your own United dairy Milk recording number is in the box beside Milk Rec ID.
In Kingswood Herd, click System -> Milk Disk Parameters.  Click on the filename dsmember.dat.  Click on Default. Click on Exit.  The new milk recording should now work OK.  If you have 2 dsmember.dat files listed, choose the one which is all lowercase letters!
